| Message for Jiggly Wiggly,
I saw you writing on a forum: "Well they are pretty big 16:10 lovers, because 16:9 & 4:3 users, actually any 16:10 user gets black bars... I have a 16:9 monitor."
Could you please clarify this, do 16:10 users get black bars or 16:9 users? I'm doubting to buy either Samsung 24' 1920 x 1080 or the 1920 x 1200 - what would be best for AA?
Thanks! |

| Americas Army 3, get a 16:10 monitor, they think that it's the most common aspect ratio. So 1920x1080 I get horizontal black bars because it's 16:9.
1280x1024 (4:3) get black bars.
Only 16:10 users are free of them so buy a monitor with (1920x1200, 1680x1050 resolutions). (Sorry about my message up there, I totally wasn't reading what I wrote). _________________ Site: http://3dslice.net/ Server: q6600@3.7 ghz | 8gigs of pc2-6400 | 6x500 hds raid 5|2x160 raid 0 OS | |

| Go with the 2nd monitor, and Your specs you have chosen very fine things. Cpu great Motherboard, is probably good, I don't know anything about i5 motherboards yet, but it's probably good. (I looked at the specs, looks good) Ram is good I like the antec p183, very classy my server uses the old p182. Very good case. Good hard drive Dvd yeah good. Vista home premium good. Hd5870, no official benchmarks, but looks awesome. So yes you picked great parts. Oh are you going to overclock? I would get a coolermaster v8. ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103055&Tpk=coolermaster%20v8) (However I'm not sure if it has an i5 bracket with it) _________________ Site: http://3dslice.net/ Server: q6600@3.7 ghz | 8gigs of pc2-6400 | 6x500 hds raid 5|2x160 raid 0 OS | |

| No need for a new cooler if not overclocking, but it's seriously easy. I mean I got a q6600 from 2.4ghz to 3.0 with barely any voltage change. Thoguh from 3.0 to 3.7 it does take like 1.6 volts. Overclocking is such a joke what people make out of it saying "you must read". No you don't, just don't be an idiot and select the highest volts. Leave most things to auto, and change mainly the cpu voltage if you're new... (I am experienced overclocker, overclocked with jumpers like 10 years ago... when I was 11. I've also used sub zero cooling, like vapochills, I modded mine a bit, I changed the tube length. Anyway, all I mean to say is: you can't break anything while overclocking unless you crank the volts to the highest setting for a long period of time. In the short term, your pc will probably just overheat, random crashes, and stuff. But that's voltages like 1.9+ Which would have to be daft to put on a 65nm processor. _________________ Site: http://3dslice.net/ Server: q6600@3.7 ghz | 8gigs of pc2-6400 | 6x500 hds raid 5|2x160 raid 0 OS | |
